Wednesday fan exiled in Norfolk, CHRIS SEVERN, remains confident the Owls have the quality in their squad to beat Norwich and keep their promotion hopes on track.

Following two defeats on the bounce, are you feeling confident ahead of today's game?

We didn't play great against Brentford but we were unlucky not to get at least a point against Leeds. One mistake in defence cost us the goal and we had a penalty saved by Rob Green. If we create enough chances we have the quality up front to win the game on Saturday.

How popular is Carlos Carvalhal with Owls fans?

I see a few people on the Wednesday forum, Owlstalk, questioning some of his tactical decisions but you can't complain with what we have accomplished under him in the past two seasons. He's brought in some quality players who clearly must believe in his ambitions for the club. I think the majority of Owls fans believe he is the man to get us back to the Premier League.

Which players have performed well this season?

I don't think we would be as high in the table as we are without Sam Hutchinson in the team. He's been the stand out player this season. Kieran Lee being out long term is a massive loss but Hutchinson has stepped up and when you have him protecting the defence and Barry Bannan creating things going forward know you're in with a chance against anybody in this league.

And which have been disappointing?

Fernando Forestieri hasn't been as influential as he was last season. He hasn't looked like the same player since he refused to play against Norwich at Carrow Road in August. Hopefully he makes up for that this weekend.

Were you pleased with the club's business during the January transfer window?

Getting Jordan Rhodes in on the last day of the transfer window was great for the club. He has been linked with Wednesday for a couple of seasons now so it's good to finally have him in the team. Sam Winnall was a surprise signing but he has looked good when he's played. I would have liked to have seen a top quality centre half brought in as competition/cover for Tom Lees and Glenn Loovens, especially with Lees being out for the past month. Vincent Sasso is an okay replacement at the back but a couple of his mistakes have cost us points.

Have you been surprised to see Norwich struggle to keep in the promotion race?

I'm not surprised with the season they are having up to now. The players they have in the squad should make them a decent top half Championship team but not top two. Robbie Brady and Martin Olsson are big losses but the two Dutch players they brought in look like decent replacements. I think they have a chance of sneaking into the play-offs but I would expect a lot of money to be spent over the summer if they managed to get back into the Premiership.

Which Canaries players will you be most wary of?

I've always been a big fan of Wes Hoolahan. He has the quality to hurt any team in this league. Cameron Jerome has also looked lively recently. Jacob Murphy is another one Wednesday need to keep an eye on.

And finally, what is your prediction?

2-0 to Wednesday. WAWAW!
