A spectacular strike from Ebou Adams earned Norwich City's Under-23s an impressive 2-1 victory at Newcastle in Premier League Two last night.
The young midfielder curled home from distance in the 63rd minute to settle a hard-fought encounter at Whitley Park.
A City side with no over-age players to bolster their ranks fell behind on 33 minutes when Luke Charman tapped home after a Victor Fernandez shot had been parried into his path by keeper Aston Oxborough.
But the visitors regrouped and Diallang Jaiyesemi converted Glenn Middleton's cross to equalise just before the hour mark. Adams' superb goal five minutes later then put City ahead while Jaiyesemi hit the woodwork near the end.
City Under-23s: Oxborough, Ramsay, Efete, Crowe, Aarons; Adams, McGrandles, Jaiyesimi, Cantwell, Middleton, Ashley-Seal. Subs: Sambu, McIntosh, Wallis, Hallett (GK).
