Norwich City may have been pegged back to a disappointing 1-1 draw with Barnsley at Carrow Road, but centre-back Grant Hanley didn't feel their half-time tactical switch was at the root of the problem.
City had led against their Championship rivals thanks to Josh Murphy's 12-minute opener but were unconvincing for the rest of the first half, leading head coach Daniel Farke to switch to a back three at the interval.
However, within two minutes of the restart City's defending left a lot to be desired as Harvey Barnes nipped in to level matters – before the Tykes went to look far more likely winners.
'I don't think it had anything to do it because we've done that and changed to it in games this season and never had a problem,' said Hanley.
'Goals are scored in games and the opposition are trying to score against you, so I don't think you can look at that.
'I've not seen the goal back yet so I don't want to say too much because maybe I'll be wrong, but with the changes it is always difficult – especially defensively to change.
'But I don't think that's something you can blame for the goal. It's up to us. We're professional players. We've got to go out and do the job we're asked to do.
'Maybe I was too far over. Maybe Ivo (Pinto) wasn't in far enough. I don't know. But as I said, the opposition are trying to score a goal and that's what they did. I'm sure we'll have a look at it on Sunday and get to the bottom of it.'
In the end City did hold out for a draw, but are still waiting for their first home victory since beating struggling Birmingham at Carrow Road back on September 9.
'We're obviously disappointed,' Hanley added. 'Before the game it's obviously one we were looking to win, and for it to finish a draw is disappointing because we felt we needed to go and win it.
'But all in all, a draw was probably the right result. We will be disappointed we've not got three points but you could maybe look at it the other way and say they will be a bit disappointed because they were on the front foot for big stages in the second half, and may have felt they could have nicked another goal.
'We know we need to be better, but I always say the beauty of this league is you've always got another game just around the corner and we've only got to wait until Tuesday night (at Nottingham Forest) to try to put it right.
'So it's important for the lads now that we recover and make sure we're ready for Tuesday.'
