City picked up a decent point at high-flying Derby County last weekend, thanks to James Maddison's second-half penalty – although Daniel Farke's men really should have sealed all three points at Pride Park.
The draw left Norwich eight points off the top six, remaining behind Ipswich on only goal-difference.
City have lost just once in 10 games in all competitions and have five wins from their previous eight Championship matches.
Ipswich are also in reasonable form, having lost just once in five matches – although their goalless home draw with Burton last time out was played in front of their lowest Portman Road attendance in 20 years and left frustrations at another mediocre season bubbling to the surface.
April 2009 was the last time Town tasted derby success over Norwich City, some 10 meetings ago.

City are swiftly back in action with a daunting Wednesday night trip to the Championship's runaway leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux, with John Ruddy and Ryan Bennett set to feature for the hosts (7.45pm).
Resurgent Bolton then visit Carrow Road the following Saturday (February 24, 3pm).
