There were plenty of chances at both ends but it was a fortunate goal which consigned Norwich City to a 1-0 loss at Charlton in an entertaining final game of pre-season.
The Canaries were fortunate to not be behind after a sloppy first half but the game was won in the 59th minute after a Jake Forster-Caskey shot from the edge of the area deflected off Grant Hanley and trickled past the wrong-footed Tim Krul.

The League One hosts then survived plenty of late pressure from the visitors, with Todd Cantwell and Ben Godfrey both denied by good saves from Dillion Phillips to preserve the win.
