North Walsham will face tough opposition again tomorrow as they seek to move up the Division 1N table.

Opponents Letchworth Garden City have made a strong start to the season and, with Westcliff – victors over the Vikings on the opening day of the season – are one of only two sides unbeaten thus far. In the two meetings between the clubs the Hertfordshire side have come out on top both times so pride as well as points will be at stake.

Nick Greenhall seemed to have a settled side last week but an injury to prop Tom Browes forced a late change and if fit this week he might have to settle for a slot on the bench.

More serious might be the injury to James Knight which cut short the centre's game at Luton and if he does not recover then wing Chad Seeley might have to move inside as cover. One certain change is at scrum half where with Henry Dewing away Dean Blyth will take the No 9 shirt.

Others who might be in contention for places in the squad are front rower Dom Roberts, who impressed for the Raiders on his return from a short break, and wing/full back Will Quinn, back from injury.

It will also be a memorable day for flanker Chris Godwin who makes his 150th appearance, a landmark which would have come sooner but for a badly broken leg sustained at Hertford early in the 2009-10 season.

Although the scoreline was heavily in favour of Luton last week (39-15) there were many aspects of the Vikings' game which promotes confidence and it is the positives the hosts will be focusing on tomorrow.

Following their impressive win against what was a below strength West Norfolk last week, the Raiders have another home game, this time against Lowestoft and Yarmouth II.

The Raiders will kick off at 2.30pm, giving supporters half an hour of additional entertainment before the Vikings start at 3pm.

n In the same section Diss travel to Brentwood tomorrow for what is sure to be a very demanding encounter. Over the last two years Brentwood have proved to be a very difficult side to beat. They possess a very large pack and a midfield that hits hard through the middle, whilst adapting well to the clearly defined slope on their home pitch. Jamie Burroughs' return to the midfield will without doubt bolster the defensive element in the team and ensure that when possession is won Diss will have momentum to get over the gain line.

The most pleasing aspect of tomorrow's selection is the return of club captain Giles West to the side. This will also enable the back division to look for a more fluid and attacking approach throughout the game. Nick Garnham also makes his debut in the back row.

Diss will be looking for their first league win of the season at the fourth attempt – but an encouraging sign this season has been the amount of players who are now moving from the Saracens into the first team.
