Norwich City II maintained their ten-point lead in the Marshall Motor Group Norfolk League Premier Division as they beat Thetford 3-0.

Relentless attacks came to fruition after 15 minutes when a strong cross by Amber Sayers found Caroline Illing in line with the far post for the final touch.

City kept up the pace and were quick to win a penalty corner which was eventually convertered by Rebecca Green after a set-up from Emily Francis. It was 3-0 before half-time as Sayers drove hard into the open circle from the left before firing home through the keeper's legs and that's the way it stayed, despite plenty of City attacks.

UEA and Harleston Magpies III, who have games in hand, kept the pressure on the leaders with emphatic wins over Lowestoft Railway and Evergreens respectively, while Dereham II are fourth following a 4-1 victory over Norwich City III.

Two goals came from impressive short corner set-ups while Charlotte Tankard showed some impressive skills. City found themselves 4-0 down before a well-deserved goal came from Thorayya Mears.

Dereham III also tasted victory, winning 3-0 at Beccles. A run from the centre by Bex Hazell followed by a cross from the left to Imo Walker put the visitors into an early lead. Dereham extended their lead through Jackie Taylor and, after a break for a storm, Walker scored her second. Dereham's player-of-the match was Hannah Dewing.

Division One leaders Norwich Dragons III were given a tough game by Sprowston II before edging home 2-1. Amy Brown's mis-hit left the Sprowston keeper wrong-foooted, leaving the ball to roll slowly over the line to put Dragons into the lead.

Caroline Wolfe struck Dragons' second goal after the break but Sprowston did not give up and one of their breaks resulted in a goal when Lucy Bracey got on the end of a cross from the right.

Broadland II shared the spoils with Yarmouth II in a 3-3 draw. A glorious through ball from Becky Savory picked out Carolyn Duthie who scrossed for Sarah Loades to give Broadland the lead. Captain Nikki Kent picked out Duthie to double the lead only for Yarmouth to make it 2-2. Broadland regained the lead through Nikki Kent but Yarmouth had the final say.

Dereham IV won 2-0 at North Walsham II (Den Howes, Tammy Dye).

Division Two leaders Norwich Dragons IV beat Lowestoft Railway II 6-0. Player of the match Beth Bygrave opened the scoring before Annika Richardson struck the first of her three goals.

The fifth goal came off a Lowestoft defender and Bygrave finished the game by nudging in her second.

Sprowston III dominated against Norwich Dragons V, winning 7-0. Liz Hollis and Tamsin Highfield both scored twice while Hanna Read, Amelia Long and Holly Thomsen were also on target.
