Norfolk will reveal the identity of their new captain at tomorrow's AGM, while also announcing a healthy profit from the 2012 season.

Current player-coach Chris Brown is the frontrunner for the captaincy role, after George Walker decided to step down as skipper at the end of last season following a loss of form.

Norfolk are also set to vote in a new president, as Keith Bray's term in the office comes to an end. Former chairman David Wild has been nominated for the role, with Graham Littlewood continuing as chairman for his fourth year at the helm.

Despite the miserable weather which hampered cricket throughout the summer, Norfolk will report a profit of 8,403 tomorrow – compared to a loss of 2,820 in 2011.

Littlewood explained that one of the main savings had come from a reduced outlay on kit and equipment. This had been a significant expenditure in 2011 following the sponsorship deal with RG Carter and the need to rebrand all players' kit.

Norfolk also saved on travel expenses, with fewer long away trips this year and Littlewood added: 'We set out last year to look at ways of saving money and increasing our income as well.

'We have got an extra 1,000 in sponsorship, so all in all it's been a very good year. It's been terrible in terms of weather, but financially-wise we've done okay.'

On the subject of the new captain, Littlewood said: 'We are very pleased with the appointment. I think we will move on and personally I think we will have a very good season.'

Members will also be updated on plans to extend the pavilion at Manor Park to replace the existing Norfolk Room mobile building.

Littlewood said: 'A number issues have been successfully addressed and both Horsford and Norfolk are determined to see that the project will happen. Providing further grant monies can be obtained, it is hoped that the new extension, which will include office accommodation for the Norfolk Cricket Board, will commence at the end of next season.'

It will include improvements to the existing pavilion and the construction of a new pavilion on the bottom pitch at Manor Park, where Horsford Ladies will play.

After last season's MCCA Knockout Trophy campaign was wiped out by the weather, Norfolk will hope for better fortune when next year's one-day programme starts with a trip to Devizes to face Wiltshire on Sunday, April 21.

That is followed by home games against Shropshire and Lincolnshire, with the group fixtures completed by a trip to Suffolk.

Next year's Norfolk Festival of Cricket will see Northumberland, Buckinghamshire and Lincolnshire visit Manor Park in the Minor Counties Championship. The Championship programme kicks off with a trip to Wisbech to play Cambridgeshire, the three-day match starting on Sunday, June 9.

The AGM is at Manor Park, Horsford, tomorrow, starting at 10.30am. Members are welcome to attend.
