Norfolk have lost their first Minor Counties Championship three-dayer of the season by eight wickets against Cambridgeshire.

The hosts took the three wickets they needed to end Norfolk's second innings before lunch and made light work of reaching the 144 runs they needed to claim victory on the final day.

However, the damage was really done in yesterday's final session as Norfolk capitulated from 59 for no loss to 103-7 to leave Cambs in pole position – something they never looked like relinquishing.

Chris Brown's men had got themselves in some decent positions throughout the match - especially on day one when Harry Bush's classy career best for his county of 148 not out helped Norfolk post a huge 328-8.

But Paul McMahon's troops reached 320-6 in their allotted 90 overs and ripped through their opponent's middle order at the end of day two to close in on a victory which gave them a total of 22 points compared to Norfolk's six.
