James Hillery has the opportunity to close in on the leading runners in the Fiesta Junior Championship this weekend as the series for young drivers tackle the long Snetterton layout.
The Shipdham racer is in third place on total points scored, behind James Waite and Nicholas Reeve, but when dropped scores are taken into account Jack Davidson has a slight advantage. Hillery has been a regular podium visitor, and a race winner at Brands Hatch, and will need to maintain that form as he attempts to overhaul his rivals on home soil.
In the senior Fiesta Championship, Simon Horrobin and Danny Harrison are the recent Class C winners, with the former hoping to repeat his double victory in last year's corresponding event, while in the latest multi-class encounter John Cooper was a two-time winner after a pair of bruising encounters.
The OSS Championship for sportscars will be contested over three rounds, with Mike Jenvey fresh from a hat-trick of victories at the previous Rockingham round.
Richard Wise followed Jenvey across the finishing line twice, having retired out of race one, and will be plotting his revenge, while Jon-Paul Ivey led the hordes of Radicals behind the two leading runners.
The Alfa Romeo Championship is a shadow of its former self, with just 10 cars entered for the previous encounter. However, Harleston's Anthony George will be back to give Graham Seager some tougher opposition at this meeting.
The Mazda MX5 Super Cup always provides superb racing, with nothing to choose between the leading racers. Tom Roche has scored the most points, but on adjusted scores he trails Luke Herbert by four, which he will be planning to put right at the Norfolk circuit.
In the Series 1 MX5 contest Will Blackwell-Chambers heads both the overall and adjusted totals and would like to keep it that way after the Snetterton encounters but he faces stiff opposition from Joshua Jackson and Oliver Allwood to name but two.
There is a 22-race programme with Saturday's racing starting at 1.35pm resuming on Sunday at 9am.
