Norfolk Over 40s have won the National Inter Counties Racketball title.
The four Norfolk players travelled to the prestigious The Park squash venue in Nottingham, to take on two other counties for the crown.
Their first opponents were Shropshire, with captain Rob Hambrook first up and winning his match 3-1. Ian Cox also won 3-1 before David Gouldby went down 3-2 after a hard game as Norfolk made it through to face a strong Dorset side.
Norfolk – who train at the East Anglia tennis and squash club – have a strong squad and Steve Moxey opened with a very close first game which he just won, gaining in confidence to win the next two convincingly for a 3-0 win. Ian Cox lost his first game, but after taking some of advice from team-mates won the match 3-1.
David Gouldby had a 3-0 walkover win and the title was on its way to Norfolk.
