Norwich City Ladies III slipped to a 3-1 defeat against Loddon on Saturday in the Empresa Norfolk Women's League Premier Division.

Loddon opened the scoring early on but Caroline Illing levelled the scores early in the second half. Loddon's class shone through though with two late goals.

Dereham II notched up three points thanks to a 3-2 win at home to Harleston Magpies III. Becca Taylor opened the scoring for Dereham before Jemima Jacobs levelled with a deflected effort. Dereham weren't to be denied though and Taylor grabbed her second to confirm victory.

Dereham III also had that winning feeling as they saw off UEA II 2-0. There were chances at both ends early on but Dereham broke the deadlock with a goal by Charlotte Reeve five minutes before the half-time whistle. The students had the better of play early on in the second half but goalkeeper Natasha Grapes preserved her side's lead with a series of fine saves. Dereham grabbed a second late on thanks to Becca Smith-Ames.

Norwich Dragons III put in an excellent performance to beat Watton Ladies II 6-0. Emma Moolman opened the scoring before Hazel Sumner doubled their lead. Dragons' third goal came just before half-time as Pollyanna Watson fired home after a sweet passing move. Caroline Wolfe made it 4-0 in the second half before Charly Burgess and another Wolfe strike completed the scoring.

Norwich Dragons IV cantered to a 3-0 win over Broadland in Division One.

Dragons dominated for the majority of the contest but had to wait until the second half to open the scoring through Felicia Roberts. Aoife Lowe-Davies bagged a brace later on to confirm the visitors' superiority.

In Division Two Dereham IV opened their campaign with a 3-1 victory over Evergreens. Catherine Longe opened the scoring with a superb goal in the first minute but Evergreens equalised before the break. In the second half Evergreens piled on the pressure but Longe grabbed her second to put Dereham in command before Grace completed the scoring.

Norwich Dragons V and Breckland shared the points in a 1-1 draw. Dragons were in the ascendancy in the first half but after the break Breckland went ahead with a deflected effort off Alice Smith. Dragons came back strongly, winning a number of short corners and their goal finally came after a strike from Anja Finnegan, finished from an impossible looking deflection by Jade Blanchflower.

In Division Three Harleston Magpies VII gained a point on the opening day of their season with a 1-1 draw against Norwich City VI.

Magpies took the lead thanks to a penalty corner from Shirley McAllen but City had the better of things in the second half and deservedly equalised. Alice Bamber ran tirelessly in midfield and Karen Hunt made numerous tackles in defence.

Norwich Dragons VI went down to a brave 2-0 loss at home to Beccles. Dragons Natasha Falzon and Megan Bowe were in good form to protect the defence but two converted short corners were Dragons' undoing.

Dereham V hit six of the best as they shot to the top of the league on goal difference courtesy of a 6-0 win over Hornets.

The fifths reached half-time 4-0 up thanks to a wonderful hat-trick by Tammy Dye and another goal by Bev Kay. The second half saw a fight back by Hornets but further goals from Tammy and Nat Grapes saw Dereham run out convincing winners.
