With the continuing hot weather fish were hard to tempt at the two Try the Fly sessions held by Norfolk & Suffolk Flyfishers at East Tuddenham at the weekend.

So, three of the society's coaches were all very quick to claim the credit when student vet Charlotte Dobson from Cambridge outwitted the biggest fish.

Tony Hull claimed he had given the initial casting lesson and suggested she try a damsel nymph. Meanwhile, Richard Oakes claimed he had then given her extra tuition while she was in his group and Paul East was first there with the landing net to bring a 2lb 2oz rainbow in perfect condition to the bank.

Gary Rushmore from Heacham - an accomplished coarse angler – did well to bank two at his first attempt on an emerger from the top lake and while others struggled, all agreed they'd had an enjoyable day, with great company, good food and as usual, plenty of fisherman's banter.
