The Norfolk AAA championships gets under way at the UEA Sportspark tomorrow, with the first event of the opening day scheduled for 10.30am.
The hammer promises to be one of the top events of the meeting, with internationals of the calibre of Michael Painter and Callum Brown aiming for 70 metres. Another thrower who will be looking to do well will be Sophie McKinna, who will be hoping for a put in the region of 15 metres in the shot.
All three of these highly-rated prospects threw for England in the international match in Sweden recently.
There is a packed programme of events for all age groups tomorrow, going on until 5.30pm as youngsters tackling competitive athletics for the first time take part on the same programme as international athletes.
The championships concludes with an evening meeting on Monday at Lynnsport, King's Lynn, when the 1,500m and javelin events will be held.
