King's Lynn's decision to leave the door open for a Niels-Kristian Iversen return has already paid dividends.
An amicable parting of the ways in November raised fans' hopes Iversen's days with the Stars were not over for good. And they got their wish yesterday when Lynn's number one for the last five years announced he had signed a short-term deal to fill in for the injured Troy Batchelor at the start of the forthcoming season.
Iversen told the Speedway Star: 'That's the plan – to do March and April (eight meetings). I think Troy will be ready by the end of April and hopefully he will get back by then and I'll be out again when he is back.'
The Dane, who had planned on taking a year out from the Elite League due to his hectic schedule, should end his temporary stint before the Grand Prix series opener in Slovenia on April 30. Iversen will be joined at the tapes by exciting German Kai Huckenbeck, 23 – confirmed as Rob Lyon's final part of his seven-man team.
Simon Lambert has penned a deal to become the club's back-up reserve rider.
