Stepping up to the challenge will be the mission for new King's Lynn Town striker Craig Gillies next season – as he steps up four levels to join the Linnets.
The big forward scored 38 goals for Chatteris Town in the Kershaw Cambridgeshire Premier Division this season, at step seven of the non-league pyramid.
After being scouted by Lynn boss Ian Culverhouse the 25-year-old has now signed a one-year contract and will test himself at step three, in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division.
Gillies lists Doddington United and Lytham Town among his previous clubs and had three games for King's Lynn Reserves in February 2016, when he scored three goals in three games in the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties First Division.
'It's a massive step up for me but one which I believe I can do,' the striker said. 'I know I have a lot to learn. However I am totally focused on being the best I can be and hopefully with the help of Ian and his coaching staff I can do well for Lynn.
'I think I can bring something a little different to the team. I'm physically strong and enjoy the battle. I'm good in the air and like any striker I love scoring goals.
'Ian came along and watched me in action at the end of the season. I had no idea he was there until afterwards when he messaged me to say well done! I felt very privileged that he had taken the time come over to watch me play.'
The signing follows on from the weekend announcements of Lowestoft Town duo Ryan Jarvis and Frazer Blake-Tracy joining the Linnets, and Michael Clunan, Kieran Shipp and Dylan Edge all signing new contracts last week.
Midfielder Conor Marshall will not be joining up with Lynn again though after opting to join Corby Town, having missed much of last season with a knee injury.
'He's a real strong lad who has an eye for goal and looks to enjoy all aspects of the game,' Lynn boss Culverhouse added of Gillies, speaking to KLTown.co.uk. 'He is very excited to be coming to The Walks and to have the chance to play in front of hundreds of people every two weeks.
'Craig is determined to do well for us and to work hard with us so he has the chance to win the shirt and keep it because he will if he's playing well, it will give me no option.'
