Nathan Perry-Warnes and Sam Groves have been called in to make their senior Norfolk debuts in tomorrow's opening Minor Counties Championship match against Cambridgeshire in Wisbech.

Horsford's opening batsman Perry-Warnes comes in for Sam Arthurton, who is playing for Essex 2nds, while Great Witchingham wicket-keeper Groves replaces Stephen Gray, whose teaching duties at Reepham High School, mean he's unable to play in the three-dayer. The newcomers are both 24 years old.

The only other change from the last one day win over Suffolk sees 20-year-old Keiran Bunting, from North Runcton, come into the attack for veteran Paul Bradshaw, who is only playing in the limited over game this season.

Arthurton and Gray have both been in prolific scoring form this season - the former getting a MCCA Trophy century against Shropshire last month while Gray hit 112 off 110 balls in Swardeston's ECB Club Championship thrashing of Cambridge Granta on Sunday and is averaging 59.6 in the EAPL.

But captain Chris Brown is confident that the new boys will demonstrate the depth of talent coming through in the county.

'There are a lot of good performances out there - we could also mention Lewis Denmark, who got 80 not out for the Development team last week, and Callum Taylor, who could both have potnetially come in,' said Brown. 'Will Dunger and Ryan Findlay are two others. This shows that if players keep playing well there will be opportunities.'

Both teams have qualified for the quarter-finals of the MCCA Trophy after winning three of their four group matches.

'We go to Jesmond next weekend, but the three-day championship is a totally different mind-set and the tactics will be totally different,' said Brown. 'We won't be thinking about Northumberland until after this game,'

Cambridgeshire welcome back 45-year-old former Surrey and Nottinghamshire star Darren Bicknell, who topped their Minor Counties League batting figures with an average of 44 when they finished runners-up in the Western Division last season but has opted out of the one day games.

They also have a player in fine form in King's Lynn-born former Northants opener Ben Howgego, who had two big scores in the four limited over matches.
