The football team Gary Setchell runs continued to mirror that of the side he supports on Saturday.

Not in terms of results, missing penalties or underachieving. After all, Manchester United are floundering this season under David Moyes while the Linnets are once more exceeding expectations following promotion.

But more so because Lynn's manager has grown up watching his other footballing love snatch victory at the death time and time again. Now while Lynn's latest dramatic ending may not have been as significant as what happened at the Nou Camp in 1999, it carried all the hallmarks of a great United comeback.

Setchell's heroes, under Sir Alex Ferguson, fought to the death. They probably will do again under Moyes. But Setchell's Lynn always have and still possess all the same qualities when it comes to the ability of pouncing at the last possible opportunity.

While there's something special about late goals, the majority of them delight in the fact they never looked likely to arrive.

However, when the referee's watch ticked towards the 90th minute and the Red Devils' games entered 'Fergie time' you could sense everyone in the ground knew the Old Trafford giants would score. That special feeling is fast becoming the norm at The Walks. Setchell's Lynn have made a habit of striking around injury time. They've already done it once to Ilkeston this season, and at the weekend they dished out an ever harsher dosage of goalscoring during a game's dying embers.

The Robins were 1-0 up thanks to Tyrell Waite's beautifully curled 62nd minute finish which brightened the appallingly wet conditions after a half-time downpour of biblical proportions had threatened to end the fixture long before it entered 'Setchell time'. When that period did arrive, the Linnets boss had already sent on Charlie Sanders and Sam Mulready to partner Rob Duffy in a three-pronged strikeforce gamble. And while both subs didn't score, a la Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in Barcelona, they certainly had a similar match-winning impact.

First, in the 87th minute, Ryan Fryatt squared for loanee Sanders who couldn't miss. He followed up his maiden goal in Lynn colours two minutes later by flicking on for Fryatt before the defender turned and finished like a striker to spark wild scenes. Just to make sure the thrilling turnaround was complete, Duffy sidefooted home a penalty in stoppage time to make it three.

The hosts had looked dead and buried. Yet you knew they would score one. And if they did, they'd definitely net another. It's why hopes of reaching the play-offs are growing with every passing week.

Lynn never know when they're beaten. They never say die. And while Setchell's at the helm, it'll never be any different.
