Neil Fryatt wants King's Lynn to get back to playing the football that took them to the brink of promotion last season.
Fryatt has taken caretaker charge of the Linnets alongside Robbie Back in the wake of Simon Clark's sacking on Sunday evening.
Lynn head to Histon in the FA Cup first qualifying round replay this evening after Saturday's 2-2 draw, which ultimately cost Clark his job after a poor start to the season. But Fryatt wants his players to remember the stylish football played last season under then boss Ian Culverhouse when they head to the Glassworld Stadium.
'Everyone has got their own opinions in football and I'm no different,' said Fryatt, who doesn't expect to be considered for the role on a full time basis. 'There will be one or two things that I'm keen to get across and I want to see the lads getting back to doing some of the things they were doing last season.
'Good players don't become bad players overnight. For whatever reason the players are obviously lacking a bit of confidence.

'I've been at a few games this season and we've still got some very good footballers but for whatever reason they've been underachieving.
'It's a real honour for me to be asked to take charge. No timeframe has been set by the chairman – he's just said for me to take charge of the game tomorrow and perhaps the weekend - we'll see.'

Frazer Blake-Tracy's late goal ensured Lynn went into the hat for the second qualifying round where they will face Stafford Rangers if they can see off the Stutes.
However, Fryatt saw enough at the weekend to suggest Histon, who play two levels below the Linnets, are capable of pulling off an upset.
'It will be a very tough game and Histon will have a game plan,' he said. 'It will be a difficult game but it's one that I think the lads have got to relish. It's a big game but I've been around here long enough to know that every game is a big game for King's Lynn. Because of the circumstances - it has taken on a bit more precedence.'
Lowestoft face a trip to Hanwell in the second qualifying round. Ties are due to take place on Saturday, September 22.
