West Norfolk League: Denver closed the gap at the top of Division One with a 40-run win at Swanton Morley and are now just two points behind Sandringham.

Paul Morton scored an unbeaten 115 to set up Denver's win, while Daniel Lake scored 72 for Swanton Morley.

Hayley East Anglia looked well placed to beat Sandringham before rain prevented the match being completed.

Terrington's Jason Young took five for 21 to help bowl out Bircham for just 90, but Carlos Greeves then bettered that with six for 45 as Bircham successfully defended their low total to win by seven runs.

Snettisham beat Springwood by 68 runs.

In Division Two, Jake Burton took five for eight as Long Sutton bowled out Narborough A for exactly 50. They knocked off the runs within 10 overs for an easy nine-wicket victory.

Downham B beat Northwold A by 39 runs to extend their lead at the top to 21 points with second placed Hospital not in action this week.

Swaffham A recorded a comfortable seven-wicket victory against Mundford A to give them a 20-point lead at the top of Division Three. Bowlers were on top at Thornham as 17 wickets fell for just 88 runs in their match against Hockwold. Kevin Williamson took five for 10 as Thornham bowled Hockwold out for 43, although Hockwold fought back to take seven wickets before Thornham sealed victory.

Holt's Kevin Moore scored 100no as they moved out of the relegation zone with an 18-run victory against Hillington A. Craig Thaxton took five for 26 and made 84 for Hillington A, but Robin Thaxter's four for 26 helped Holt win.

Heacham outplayed Beeston to close the gap at the bottom thanks to 51 from Adam Darlow and an unbeaten 52 from Anthony Sadler. Duncan Rix took four for 46 and Jim Parker four for 15 to complete an 82-run victory.

In Division Four, Snettisham A's Tim Clary took five for 31 but could not prevent runaway leaders Beetley beating Snettisham A by 54 runs to extend their lead to 58 points.

Castle Acre A's Cameron Bear took five for 16 as Necton were bowled out for exactly 100. Sam Copson then claimed four for 11 and James Spinks four for 17 as Necton successfully defended their total to record a 40-run victory.

Gayton's Tim Tillbrook (71) and John Reid (53) helped them reach the highest team total of the day, 296. Swanton Morley A avoided defeat when rain caused an abandonment.

Long Sutton thrashed Denver by 10 wickets in Division Five, with Gary Burton (four for 13) and Shaun Keeble (four for eight) doing the damage. Niel Wynn took four for 15 for Downham C and although Paul Kaminski took five for 32 for Northwold A, he was unable to prevent Downham chasing down the victory target to win by one wicket.

Dereham B beat Gooderstone A to keep it tight at the top of Division Five.
