We are entering the last two weeks of the current coarse season at the Nar Valley Fisheries complex but the big carp continue to be caught.

To date we have had 36 reported carp over 30lb this season. Lake Geneva is the venue for a last minute specimen; Nick Durant of Exeter banked the largest carp of the week, a superb Mirror of 29lb 4oz.

The fish in Hobbs lake, the new trout fishery, are now showing well mostly mornings and evening with the hatches of black gnats taking place on a regular basis. Suffice to say members are finding some good action on nymphs and buzzers suspended just below the surface in the activity areas, with rainbows between 1.5lb and 3lb this is a recipe for some great sport. Members are reminded the renewal notices are out and should be returned by March 31 to guarantee your permit for next season.
