The second weekend of the EAPL season produced a couple of low-scoring matches – with mixed luck for the two Norfolk sides involved.

Norwich must have feared the worst when they were bowled out for just 129 by Mildenhall at Postwick, with former West Indies paceman Tino Best taking three wickets for the second game running.

But the modest score proved just enough as the visitors succumbed for 117 in the 46th over, with skipper Ashley Watson taking 4-13 and Yathseraj Kailainathan weighing in with 2-6 from seven miserly overs.

As it turned out the earlier batting contributions of Will O'Donnell (41) and Chris Borrett (24) had been absolutely crucial.

Vauxhall Mallards must have been reasonably happy after restricting Sudbury to 139 in exactly 50 overs, with Paul Bradshaw taking 4-23, but they struggled badly in reply and could only get up to 119, despite the best efforts of Harry Barker (31).
