Talented trio Linda Blake, Chris Webb and Jayne Roylance reached the quarter-finals of the English women's two-wood triples championship in Nottingham on Sunday - but only after executing a dramatic recovery.
Trailing a Birmingham triple 13-4 at the halfway stage, the North Walsham trio hit back, piling up 21 shots while conceding only two for what turned out to be a comfortable 25-15 victory.
Phil Long, Charlie Boon and Philip Day, from the Norfolk club in Norwich, were not so fortunate, missing out on a place in the quarter-finals of the triples in a thrilling second round contest, which Glenn Skipp's Hartlepool trio won 18-15.
In the first round, the Norfolk team outplayed Grantham, skipped by former England star Dion Auckland, chalking up an impressive 23-15 result - but North Walsham's Martin Christmas, Mark Curtis and Stephen Ellis, were well beaten, 24-5, by Bournemouth.
