Mildenhall have been rocked by news that Andrew Moore has quit speedway due to financial difficulties after making just one appearance for the ASL Freight Fen Tigers.

Moore only made his debut last Sunday against King's Lynn, scoring four points, following his arrival as replacement for Shaun Tacey after struggling with his early season form at Eastbourne in the Elite League.

Mildenhall will operate rider replacement for Moore in Sunday's clash against Glasgow after being given special dispensation by the BSPA, but Tigers' promoter Mick Horton has made no firm decision on his long-term replacement.

“It's a real body blow, both ourselves and Eastbourne offered to help Andrew through this but there's nothing we can do about it now” said Horton.

“I will think it over the next few days and then make a decision about his replacement.”

Eastbourne co-promoter Jon Cook said: “I have the utmost respect for the decision that Andrew has taken, it would have been far easier to have carried on racing and not faced the reality of his situation and he has displayed great maturity in this course of action.”

Mildenhall have agreed to loan Shaun Tacey to Poole in the Elite League, subject to ramification from the BSPA, for one month following his release from the Fen Tigers.

Daniel King has declared himself fit for Sunday's clash against Glasgow following an horrific crash whilst riding for Ipswich against Coventry on Thursday evening.

He somersaulted over the air-fence after a tangle with Rory Schlein and landed on the outer stock car circuit where he received lengthy medical treatment. But the Tigers' heat leader admits he is just feeling ' a bit sore' and will ride despite suffering severe damage to his bike.
