Mildenhall Cycling Club are planning a reunion to celebrate its 60th year.

The reunion, which will take place between 12.30 and 5pm in the West Row Village Hall on Sunday, June 23, will be an ideal opportunity for members past and present to get to together and reminisce about Club life and their cycling experiences.

After its incredibly successful reunions in 2003 and 2008, the Club are keen to continue and foster the high regard that Mildenhall Cycling Club is held within.

Mildenhall Cycling Club chairman Mark Burchett says, 'Like the mini-reunion we held five years ago, it will be a very informal affair, unlike our big 50th year reunion in 2003. The main thing is to provide a relaxed atmosphere where everyone can meet and just have a good catch-up. It's very clear from the previous reunions that many people have a special affinity with and for Mildenhall Cycling Club and the Club's committee feel it is important to do all we can for that to continue.'

'We've already had ex-members like Roger Carradus from Portsmouth, a member from the 1970's and who still cycles, as well as one of the founding members Donny Clark, who lives in Australia, already confirm they are coming,'

'There will also be a display of club memorabilia not seen before, that is sure to be a talking point. If anyone has anything that they would like to loan for this, we would love to hear from them', he added.

The Mildenhall club caters for all cyclists of all ages and abilities and has it own purpose built clubroom in Wamil Way, Mildenhall. They meet there every Monday evening from 8.15pm, except Bank-Holidays. Since the success of the GB cycling team in Beijing and especially in the London Olympics last year the Club has since seen a welcome upsurge in interest in cycling and now have over 100 members, the highest it has been since the late 1960's and early 1970's.
