Saham batted first and relied heavily on the efforts of Gareth Leggett (60) in their total of 120 all out. Melton's star performer was Grenville Ireland, who took four for 39 from his nine overs, while there were three wickets for Gary Coulson and two for Nathan Devlin.

Matt Whiting and Alex Cooper gave the Melton innings a brisk start, although from 52 without loss they stumbled to 75 for four. Chris Elliott (19) and David Bunn (21no) steadied the ship and skipper Steve Phoenix (8no) saw Melton home.

Lowestoft A took over from Bradenham A at the top of Division Six after beating Eaton by 137 runs, while Bradenham's game was rained off. Kirkley & Lowestoft Railway B remain bottom after their 104-run defeat at home to Winterton A.

In Division Seven, Bungay A closed the gap slightly on leaders Hethersett & Tas Valley A. Bungay bowled Aldborough A out for just 63 and got home with two wickets down.

Drayton A beat Rocklands A by 31 runs in Division Eight and Topcroft B defeated Horsford C by four wickets in Division Nine.
