Former Norwich striker Paul McVeigh has been offered a trial by City's Championship rivals Plymouth Argyle.

The 29-year-old Irishman, who was released by the Canaries at the end of last season, recently spent some time with Italian Serie B outfit Pisa - but has now resumed his search for employment a little closer to home.

“We will be having a look at Paul McVeigh, who is currently out of contract,” said Pilgrims boss Ian Holloway. “Not having Kevin Gallen, I would like to have a look at someone else. I might need someone on that right-hand side, who can do a dual role if we get some injuries.”
