Lucie Hustler from Norwich headed south for the Stratford Hills Horse Trials at the weekend. And she made her trip worthwhile by coming second in the BE90 section C on her own Fairfax Jackdaw.

It was only her second time out this season, with her previous result being second at Poplar Park in April.

'Jack had a virtually identical run to Poplar Park finishing on his dressage score of 30,' she said. 'I planned to do less BE this year, with just four rides on day tickets, so to have had two qualifying outings with two regional finals now lined up is fantastic.'

Another Norfolk rider at the event was Emily Lochore, who came second on Dolphin Boy in the Novice section J. She also claimed two fifths and a 20th.

Gillie Cranfield, who organised the event for the first time this year said, 'the ground conditions were excellent and the courses rode extremely well.'

All profits made from the event will go to the Motor Neurone Disease Association and the Shelley Centre for Therapeutic riding.
