Lowestoft Town are aiming for a hat-trick of Suffolk Premier Cup victories when they taken on Needham Market at the Weston Community Homes Stadium this evening.

The Trawlerboys will make it three Premier Cup wins on the spin if they can see off fellow Ryman League Premier outfit, Needham Market, at the home of Colchester United.

Lowestoft lifted the cup in the 2015 courtesy of a 2-1 victory over Whitton United and retained the trophy thanks to a 3-1 win against Leiston last season.

Manager Ady Gallagher admits the club has got used to having a piece of silverware to celebrate at the end of the season and it's a tradition he intends to uphold.

'We always want to finish our season by putting a trophy on the table,' said Gallagher, who led the Blues to an 11th-placed finish in the league this season. 'Needham have had a fantastic season, and having been in the play-off places all season they will feel unlucky that they were not able to stay in there right to the end.

'When we played them in the league we drew with them at our place and lost away. We have played worse in other games over the course of the season and got more out of them. On both occasions we felt we didn't get what we deserved.

'We are expecting a tough test, and any cup final it is about winning the game.'

Gallagher, who was previously joint manager with Micky Chapman until the latter retired two years ago, said: 'I have had a lot of success over the last 17 years in which I have been involved in the Premier Cup.

'As a club we have enjoyed playing at Portman Road and local grounds in the past and this season we are looking forward to playing at another new stadium at Colchester United.'

Gallagher will be without Rory McAuley, who is suspended, while Rossi Jarvis is still recovering from a minor groin operation and Harvey Hodd is unavailable.

The registration of Nico Cotton, who had been on loan from Southend United, has now expired, so he is not eligible to play, while Andrew Fisk is a major doubt following a calf injury.

Spectators can gain access to the ground from 6.30pm and admission to the final will be £10 for adults, £5 for concessions and £1 for children under 16.
