Merthyr Town 1 King's Lynn Town 1

King's Lynn Town put Saturday's painful 6-1 home defeat at the hands of Weymouth behind them by securing a hard-fought draw in South Wales.

The Linnets, who went into the game on a run of three successive defeats, were pegged back almost immediately after opening the scoring in the first half, but reacted well to that setback to ensure they made the long journey home with a point.

After an even start Gary Setchell's side edged in front on 36 minutes when Lee Stevenson found the back of the net with a well-struck free-kick. Merthyr equalised from their next attack when Ian Traylor beat Alex Street with a firm header and from then on the Welsh side had the better of it but couldn't find the back of the net again.

Lynn defended well to ensure they got something out of the game and went close to grabbing all three points late on when a Stevenson shot hit the woodwork.
