Linnets in bid for hotshot Dillon
King's Lynn boss Keith Webb has confirmed the club had launched a raid for Southern League, Premier Division hotshot Chris Dillon ahead of their clash against Team Bath.
King's Lynn boss Keith Webb yesterday confirmed the club had launched a raid for Southern League, Premier Division hotshot Chris Dillon ahead of tonight's clash against Team Bath.
Webb revealed Lynn's initial inquiry had been knocked back for Hitchin's 13-goal marksman.
Lewes and ex-Cambridge City striker Paul Booth is another on Webb's short- list as he bids to beef up his attacking options with uncertainty surrounding Michael Frew's long-term future.
Ambitious Nationwide North club Hucknall have targeted the blond front runner to spearhead Town's promotion push.
"There's no change in that situation at the moment," said Webb. "I want him to stay and he knows that. It's up to the lad. Obviously it would be a move closer to his home but whether the travelling is a factor I don't know.
"I'm hoping we might be able to do something this week with bringing in a striker. Good players in those positions are at a premium - especially this time of year - and it's down to the clubs we're dealing with. We'll keep plugging away.

"We've had a knock back for Dillon. I believe he is under contract and that is also the situation with Booth, who is based down in Kent anyway."
Webb's immediate concern is solving a defensive conundrum for the students' visit with skipper Mark Warren serving a one match ban.
Grant Cooper (hamstring) is set to return alongside Greg Crane after missing Lynn's back-to-back league victories, but Frew (hamstring) is again rated doubtful.
Experienced defender Dean West is poised to captain the side in Warren's absence.
"I've spoken to Coops and he is confident of being fit," said Webb. "He had a training session on his own and came through it okay. I'm always a little wary to see how players react first. You only have to look at what happened to Sam McMahon. He came back from a similar problem and is now out four to six weeks.
"Craney has done really well for me and Coops was also playing well before he got injured so when Wazza comes back in I've got a nice dilemma."
Mark Camm is set to shake off a bout of flu as Lynn aim to build on weekend victory at Chippenham.
"It's a start but we must keep our feet on the ground," insisted Webb. "The next couple of months are a really important period for everyone at the club - not just the first team but reserves, juniors, everyone.
"Team Bath will be a tough one. They'll be a young, fit side with plenty of confidence. Winning two matches is not enough for me to say we've turned a corner or the blip is over. Our concentration is just on this next game.
"We looked good at Chippenham. We kept a decent shape and when the opportunities came round we we're quite comprehensive about taking them. You can't play quality football for 90 minutes but it was a very professional performance. I was delighted to see the front lads get on the score sheet because that will do them no harm."
