Norfolk Academy of Gymnastics star Laura-Rose Cooke to represent England Gymnastics in the prestigious Leverkusen Cup in Germany next month.
The Norwich School sixth-form student is one of three gymnasts selected from the England squad, following on from success at the East Region FIG & Challenge Championships in Ipswich – winning five gold medals, one silver and two special awards.
Sara-Jane Inglis, head coach at the Norfolk Academy of Gymnastics, said: 'This is a well deserved honour for Laura, who has combined hard work and quiet determination with a calm and mature competition head to impress all who have seen her perform recently.'
As well as the team FIG trophy, Cooke won gold on the bars, beam and floor, as well as silver on vault. She also won the Frank Stevens Trophy, for the FIG gymnast with the highest overall score, and the Brian Evans Trophy, for the FIG gymnast with the highest score on floor.
