King's Lynn Town boss Gary Setchell insists he is not tempted to park the bus against the league leaders.

The Linnets, sixth, welcome Evo-Stik Premier Division pace-setters Chorley to The Walks this afternoon having lost the reverse fixture 1-0. But Setchell admits he learned that day that opting for a negative approach doesn't always get the rewards a fine defensive play deserves.

Lynn's boss said: 'If you look at the big hitters in the league we've beaten Worksop, AFC Fylde, Rushall, Ashton and Whitby. The only two big sides we haven't beaten are Chorley and Skelmersdale, the top two, and we both have them to play at home.

'Unless they're that much better than everyone else there's no reason why we can't compete. We only lost 1-0 at Chorley and I might have done my players an injustice that day. I went there really to try and get a point. It's the only time I've ever done it.

'We started with five at the back, sat back and nearly did get a point. But we got done by a dubious penalty. So I won't be doing that again. We've done some work in training on how to set up and how we will play and we will certainly try to get at them.'

Lynn will be without Massiah McDonald, who is sitting out the last match of his massive seven-game ban, Jack McGovern and Peter Bore. The latter is doing his final exam to get into the police force.

Garry Flitcroft's table-toppers arrive with a fine reputation having enjoyed a fine FA Trophy run as well as mounting a championship challenge. But the former Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers midfielder, who talks to Setchell on a relatively regular basis, will not be taking back-to-back promoted Lynn lightly.

Setchell said: 'Hopefully our fans will get right behind us as Chorley have clearly got a very good squad, they're the stand-out team in our league.

'They've beaten Forest Green Rovers this season, who have a £1m budget, and took Tamworth to a replay. Chorley have only lost three games in the league and conceded just 23 goals. But Garry sees this as one of the toughest games they've got left and he'll definitely show us the respect that we will also obviously show them.'

Lynn sit two points outside of the play-off places while their Lancashire opponents have the same size gap over their nearest challenges , Skelmersdale United, at the summit.
