King's Lynn Town boss Ian Culverhouse has challenged his players to stay hungry when they take on fellow promotion hopefuls, Slough Town, at The Walks this evening (kick-off 7.45pm).

The Linnets demonstrated their promotion credentials with a 2-0 win at league leaders Hereford on Saturday thanks to goals from Ryan Fryatt and Toby Hilliard.

Automatic promotion looks to be beyond Culverhouse's men despite that impressive win with Lynn still seven points off the Bulls, who have three games in hand over the second-placed Linnets.

However, Culverhouse doesn't want to see his side's standards drop when they take on Slough, who have play-off aspirations of their own.

'Firstly, as good as Saturday was, and it was very good, that game has now gone and we now prepare for the next challenge,' Culverhouse told the club's website. 'Slough are another good team. The league table doesn't lie and they are enjoying a good season like ourselves.

'They have games in hand still and will still believe that they are going to cement a place for themselves in the play-offs. I remember we went there towards the end of last season with a very young squad that day and they gave us a lesson in the first half and had the game won after 45 minutes.

'They have some very good players in their squad and it will be up to the lads to contain them and to continue on from where we left off on Saturday. Within our group we have a very strong togetherness and spirit which you must have if you want to be challenging at the end of April.

'We have set ourselves some high standards this season and we need to show that in every game between now and the season's end.

'The group are hungry to do well and to achieve but we are all very well aware that they need to remain focused and concentration is key over the next few weeks.

'The fans at Hereford were fantastic and the players showed their appreciation after. Hopefully Saturday's result has whet the appetite and hopefully we can be boosted by yet another Walks crowd as I think the fans and noise do make a big difference.'

Leon Mettam continues his suspension and Cameron King is still absent with an ankle injury.
