King's Lynn Town boss Gary Setchell has finally got his man – well for the next five weeks at least.
The Linnets this evening announced they had signed Boston United striker John Sands on loan until the end of the season. Setchell has long been an admirer of the hitman and admits he's delighted to have secured his services, albeit temporarily.
Lynn's boss said: 'John is a player I have spoken to every pre-season but he has always had a whole host of clubs after him.
'He's a prolific and proven goalscorer at Step Three (Lynn's level) winning the golden boot a couple of times in the Ryman League Premier Division I believe. He started for Boston on Saturday so will be fit. Sometimes a player and club don't fit and that's the case with John and Boston.'
The 29-year-old joined Boston, where he's netted twice in 13 appearances, from Leiston in November last year. He made his name with Mildenhall Town, Canvey Island, Chelmsford City and Bury Town.
