Ian Culverhouse has called on King's Lynn Town fans to raise the roof this afternoon in the Southern League's match of the day.

It's first against fourth as Culverhouse's table-topping Linnets take on Weymouth.

The Linnets boss senses another entertaining afternoon – which will be enhanced if the home fans are in full voice.

'We need the crowd behind us,' said Culverhouse. 'It can make a big difference and with a bit of noise and added support it could be a cracking atmosphere inside the ground.

Lynn were beaten 3-1 at Weymouth back in October, but the Linnets have rarely been outside of the top two ever since.

'It's what football should all be about,' Culverhouse told the club's official website.

'Two teams in decent form and two teams who try and play football in what I would call the right way.

'The game down at theirs for the neutral was great entertainment with lots going on.

'From our point of view it was disappointing to lose the game after forcing our way back into it.

'If memory serves me right their goalkeeper had an outstanding game, including a penalty save, and he was the difference between us getting something from the game.

'It's going to be another test for us and we need everyone right behind us from the first whistle to the last.

'They are in my opinion, one of the better teams in the league and have some talented players in their squad.

'Having said that we are the same and I would like to think that we have delivered some good entertainment for our supporters this season to date.'

It's tight at the top end of the table – Lynn are just three points ahead of Weymouth, one ahead of Kettering Town and three ahead of Hereford, who have four games in hand and have a trip to west Norfolk at the end of the month.

Kettering travel to Merthyr this afternoon, while Hereford are at Dorchester.

For Culverhouse, it's all a work in progress. He said: 'Things are progressing along okay I would say but we still need to be better in certain areas at times and that is something myself and the squad will continue to work on going forward.'
