King's Lynn Town will be looking to display their Evo-Stik Premier Division credentials once again when Stocksbridge Park Steels arrive in Norfolk.

The Linnets lost their opening game at Step Three of the non-league ladder 2-0 at Nantwich Town on Saturday. But Gary Setchell's troops bounced back in glorious fashion by hammering Rushall Olympic – who finished sixth last term – on their own turn in midweek.

Steels head to Nelson's County having also tasted one win and one loss this term and Setchell admits his men can go into the match in happier spirits after picking up their maiden league victory on Tuesday.

He said: 'I don't think you can play poorly and win in this division. Last season, a lot of the time, we played average at best and won games.

'This time, we're not going to have to play as well as we did on Tuesday, but we're going to have to do enough to win games. No one's going to give you a game in this division. Even Saturday, when we lost, we didn't give it to Nantwich. They earned it and they beat us. On Tuesday, we earned it and beat Rushall. Hopefully, today whoever earns it will win the football match.

'Tuesday was pleasing and it was a monkey off our back. We had a long trip home from Nantwich, which obviously made us think about it all even more, and I spoke to the boys before the Rushall game. I watched the DVD (of Nantwich game) on Monday, picked up one or two things I thought we could do a lot better, which we did, and came away 6-0 winners.'

South Yorkshire-based Stocksbridge only just stayed up last term but on their previous visit to The Walks, on the opening day of 2009/10 when the 'old' club was at Step Three before it went bust, they won 3-1. A fine triumph over relegated Conference North Droylsden kick-started their new campaign.

That impressive triumph sent shockwaves through the Northern League, as did Lynn's victory over Olympic. And Setchell will be hoping for more goals from midweek match-winner Dan Jacob, who netted his first treble for the club.

The 25-year-old, playing with a suspected broken toe, is an injury doubt again. But he should be fine to play through the pain. Centre-back Jason Lee, arguably one of Lynn's stars of a stunning calendar year so far, will have a fitness test on a swollen knee. However, Setchell expects him to be 'ok'.
