The Walks hosts its first Step Three football since 2009 this evening when King's Lynn Town welcome Rushall Olympic.

Gary Setchell's promoted Linnets get their home Evo-Stik Premier Division programme underway following a 2-0 opening-day defeat at Nantwich Town on Saturday.

And the Lynn manager admits it's going to be another tough examination for his side when they entertain the West Midlanders – and former professional Dele Adebola – come 7.45pm.

He said: 'Saturday was as hard as I expected. We had a decent pre-season and one or two people thought 'we will win the league'. But it's such a hard division.

'We haven't got the money and we're not littered with ex-Conference or Football League players. We will stick with the squad we have for now as they've earned the right. We made a couple of mistakes at the weekend and a very good Nantwich side punished us.

'That's the difference. We'd have probably got away with it last season. If all the lads didn't know how hard it was going to be at Step Three they certainly did in the first half. But we reacted really well in the second and I was pleased with that.'

The 'old' Lynn were wound up in the High Court just under four years ago while playing at the same level the reformed club is now.

Danny Gay was 'keeper then and he looks set to keep his place tonight while Alex Street plays for lower-level Dereham Town after completing a dual-registration agreement which allows him to play for both outfits.

'I want us to get off the mark to take the pressure off the lads,' said Lynn's boss.

'But Rushall won on Saturday and are a very good Step Three side (finished sixth last term). They'll be big, strong and make it very difficult for us. We're going to lose games away from home, and possibly some at home as well. So I'm certainly not sitting at home crying in my cornflakes about the weekend – where I saw lots of positives.'

Setchell has a full squad to choose from but will once again be without new signing Rob Duffy as he completes his comeback from a serious ankle injury.
