The King's Lynn Sunday League made its return to Norfolk Senior Cup action at the weekend, with six of its 12 teams progressing one step closer to a Carrow Road final.

CKSA Emneth won 4-1 in extra time away at fancied Norwich Busmen after finishing 1-1 at full time. Nathan Watson (2), K Ruff and Dave Abbott netted.

Horsepigs also stunned fancied opposition, beating Windmill Wanderers 4-2 on penalties, after a 3-3 draw. Horsepigs came from 3-1 down as well with Matt Willis scoring twice and Jack Gould once.

Terrington, undoubtedly, had the toughest task, away at favourites AFC Wanderers, and came within a whisker of a memorable upset. In a game that changed lead three times, Terrington went out 5-3 (AET), despite going 3-2 ahead in extra-time. Tommy Anderson, Dean Twaite-Smith and Neil Goodbourn netted.

Sam Whyborn (2) and Ricky Gunns' goals helped England's Hope beat Aslacton 3-2 while L Church (2) and Nathan Mitchell netted in Gaywood Park Rangers' 3-0 win over Nomads.

Junior Cup holders FANG went out 3-2 at home to Poringland despite goals from Lewis Osborn and Harry Cunliffe. William Burt also lost on their own turf, 6-3 to PL Rangers, even though strikes from Chris Edgar, Connor Parnell and an own goal had given them hope.

Lynn Napier did themselves proud during a 2-1 loss at Horsford United but Maltings failed to raise a side and exited the competition without playing their first-round fixture.

Intermediate Cup holders Chilvers battled through 4-2 away at Hartease. L Duarte (2), L Clarke and Liam Bowley put the Lynn side through.

With only four teams in action in the lower-level Intermediate Cup – which the league's Division One teams used to play in until the county moved them up to senior level – and the others seeing byes, there was little action on Sunday for Division Two teams – and all unfortunately lost.

New-boys River Lane, struggling to pick up a positive result so far, succumbed to a monumental 16-1 home defeat against New Buckenham.

Flitcham Bell battled bravely, but fell 6-0 to Sloughbottom Revolution, CR Eastern Province lost 7-3 at home to Breckland Spirit while Maid's Head made the long trip to Hemsby and fell by just one goal to nil.

League action returns on Sunday with the pick of the fixtures being reigning Division One champions Terrington hosting last term's runners-up Chilvers.
