Division Two Clenchwarton suffered penalty shoot-out heartache against higher-level England's Hope in the King's Lynn Sunday League Cup quarter-finals.

The game was switched to Division One Hope after continual postponements at Clenchwarton and the 'visitors' took the lead through Daniel Chapman. Paul Richardson drew Hope level and that is how the game stayed until extra-time. Ricky Gunns made it 2-1 but a Chapman screamer took the game into spot-kicks, where Hope won 4-1. They visit Horsepigs while Chilvers face FANG in the semi-finals on February 16.

In the last four of the Hardy/Sheen, River Lane and Tilney will try again this weekend after succumbing to the weather. The winners will face Terrington who won 4-1 at March Saracens. Dan Smethurst put the underdogs in front before Kaz Beetlestone (2), Matt Prudence and Ian Prudence saw the visitors home.

Division Two Hunstanton remained on course for the double by beating CR Eastern Province 5-1 in the TGWU semi-final. Jack Lincoln, Jordan Penty, Tom Rainsbury, K O'Grady and L Batterbee netted for the seasiders.

In league action, William Burt made it five wins in their last seven by seeing off Lynn Napier 3-2 in a thriller. Elsewhere in Division One, Chilvers beat basement boys Wisbech Wanderers to go top of the pile and close in on the title. K Ratcliffe scored for the hosts but Neil Goodbourn (4), Shaun Gurney and Kevin Leggett found the net for the new league leaders. FANG kept pace with Chilvers thanks to an emphatic 7-3 win over Vulcatech. Chez Rust (2), Alex Vincent (2), Tommy Rix, James Rix and Sam Garner scored for their team while Kenzie Corbett, Lee Somerton and Harry Bennett netted for 'Tech.

In Division Two, West Lynn exacted revenge for their recent defeat to Flitcham by beating them 4-1. L Claydon scored for Bell but G Smith (2), G Halliday and A Huarns gave Lynn all three points.

In other news, the Cherrington (10.30am) and TGWU (1.30pm) finals will be held at Fakenham Town on Sunday April 13 with the League Cup (10.30am) and Hardy/Sheen (1.30pm) showcases taking place at the same venue the following week.
