King's Lynn Stars trio Niels-Kristian Iversen, Mads Korneliussen and Kevin Wolbert kept their Speedway Grand Prix dreams alive at the weekend by progressing into this year's qualifying semi-finals.

In-form Stars number one Iversen, who admitted he was dismayed to have been overlooked for this season's Danish wild card slot, finished sixth in Poland on Saturday. The two-time World Cup winner scored 10 points from his five rides in Tarnow to secure his place in the next round.

Captain Korneliussen and reserve Wolbert battled against each other in Gustrow, Germany and both just missed out on a podium finish after a re-run for third place was won by Mikkel B Jensen.

All three now go into the draw for the semi-finals that take place in Vojens (Denmark), Lonigo (Italy) and Divisov (Czech Republic) on June 30 - the day after Lynn are set to host Poole Pirates at the Norfolk Arena.

Finalists will battle it out for a Grand Prix series place in Gorican, Croatia, on September 29 with the top three riders from the meeting guaranteeing their place in next season's GPs.
