King's Lynn Stars can heap more misery on Elite League basement boys Birmingham Brummies at the Norfolk Arena this evening.

Rob Lyon's table-toppers have beaten the strugglers twice away already and are targetting a third victory during 2014 against the Midlands. But despite having hammered them 60-30 away – and edged the second encounter 48-42 – team boss Lyon expects his troops will want to remain on the gas all night at Saddlebow Road.

He said: 'The riders are there to do a job. It doesn't matter who they're riding. The fact that Birmingham are bottom won't come into it.

'They may be a little weaker than normal this evening, but they've had some good results away from home. They can be dangerous, as can any team. So we've just got to be confident in our own team and what we can do.

'The guys have been really professional. The younger lads are always keen and the top boys are pros. We've got a good bunch of lads. Bar Coventry last week, towards the end, we've not had a comfortable win at home. We have to respect the opposition, but I would be lying if I said I wouldn't be extremely disappointed if we didn't pick up all three league points.'

Lynn, who have only lost once this term and have won their last 10 meetings in a row, can name their full one to seven line-up tonight after Lewis Rose declared himself fit.

The youngster has missed the last four meetings after injuring his back and Lyon admits he's pleased to have the Fast Track Draft talent back in his ranks.

'It's nice to have Lewis back, we've missed him,' said the Stars chief.

'It's hard to get guest replacements and while they've always given 100pc it's always nice to have your own guy back. We've missed his scoring potential. I'm looking forward to having him back and hopefully now we'll stay injury free for the rest of the season.'

It's the first time since April 30 that Lynn, thanks to fitness issues surrounding Rose and Kenneth Bjerre, have been able to put out the side they picked at the start of the season.

On the flip side, if Birmingham's task wasn't daunting enough they have been forced to declare a patched-up side for the trip to the 'fortress' Norfolk Arena – where Lynn are undefeated in seven meetings this campaign. New signing Bartosz Zmarzlik misses the clash along with in-form Daniel Nermark, a former Lynn rider, and reserve Paul Starke.

Zmarzlik is riding in the Polish Championship, Nermark has a Swedish League meeting and Starke is in action for Premier League Somerset. The Brummies will use the rider replacement facility for Zmarzlik, Tomas Jorgensen guests for Nermark and Dan Halsey for Starke.
