King's Lynn can complete an Elite League clean sweep by beating Eastbourne this evening.
The Stars, who have broken a host of speedway records during a scintillating start to the term, have tasted success at least once against eight of the sides in their division. And they will add the Eagles to that list tonight if they see them off at the Norfolk Arena during the first meeting between the two clubs in 2014.
Rob Lyon's side go into the fixture on the back of an impressive 53-37 win at Wolverhampton Wolves – which came off the back of a narrow loss at Lakeside which ended a winning run that had spanned 14 matches.
So it's no surprise that many expect the league leaders, unbeaten at home, to crush a team this evening who are yet to win away. The Saddlebow Road stars have won all 10 of their fixtures on their own shale while Eastbourne, who sit 26 points behind Lynn in third, have lost all of their six away matches. Once again, it is only fine form at their unpopular home track which is keeping them in the hunt for an end-of-season play-off position.
Dane Nicklas Porsing was set to return for Lynn but has failed a late fitness test. Reserve Lewis Kerr is still sidelined. Their places will be taken by Josh Auty and Simon Lambert.
Stars boss Lyon said: 'Eastbourne have a solid top five and once again will provide us with a hard match. The team is however in a determined mood and will be looking to secure another three more league points to the total.'
Eastbourne will also be without one of their high-flying Fast Track Draft picks which should soften the blow of Kerr's absence. Lewis Blackbird is unavailable because he is riding for Peterborough at Redcar in the Premier League. Team boss Trevor Geer has replaced the man who top-scored with 12, paid 14, while guesting for Lynn on Monday is Kerr's absence with Kyle Newman.
Lynn, whose 14-match winning streak was a club best and the finest start to a top-flight campaign by any club in the modern era, inflicted Wolves' first home defeat of the season on Monday. And the Midlanders' number one, and world champion, Tai Woffinden knows the Norfolk Arena outfit are going to take some stopping this term.
He told his club's website: 't was a tough night for us - we should have really won being at home but that's just the way it goes sometimes.
'I don't think all the boys were scoring the points they needed to, and against a strong side like King's Lynn that's what happens.'
