Rampant Lynn crushed Swindon tonight to underline their Elite League credentials.

Robins' Team GB rider Simon Stead was ruled out through injury but Rob Lyon's men looked more than a match for any of the top flight's best around Saddlebow.

Lasse Bjerre upstaged his more established elder brother with a pivotal role in back-to-back late maximums that put Lynn in complete control after Scott Nicholls' heat nine tactical hinted at a revival.

Kenneth Bjerre cruised to the opener in a smooth tour but Nicholls dug in to repel Tomas Topinka.

Lasse Bjerre was left at the traps in the reserves but launched a furious onslaught to overhaul Josh Grajczonek before shutting the throttle off down the back straight. Mads Korneliussen bravely dived around Maciej Janowski to back up Olly Allen for a maximum in heat three. Niels-Kristian Iversen lifted at the start in heat four but powered around Janowski and Grajczonek to signal the start of an impressive night's work for the grand prix-hunting Dane.

Nicholls scored in the next for Swindon's first heat advantage after Allen and Korneliussen failed to build on their impressive opener but Kenneth Bjerre won by the proverbial distance in a scorching 59.62 second heat six success.

Iversen drove out of the dirt to maintain his faultless start with Filip Sitera scoring on a reserve switch. Topinka delighted his adoring public with a smooth trap to clinch heat eight – Lasse Bjerre cashing in to maximum effect to move Lynn 12 clear at half way.

Swindon deployed Nicholls on a vital tactical raid and the Team GB racer duly obliged to drag the visitors back into the meeting on the cusp of the interval. Lynn were set for another home max on the restart until Kenneth Bjerre was forced to bail out over the finish line one lap early with mechanical problems. Topinka moved centre stage to hold off Janowski whilst his team mate cut a disconsolate figure on the inner concrete.

Lasse Bjerre trapped to head Nicholls but Iversen's wide arc enticed the Swindon number one to fire up the inside but the Dane's pure straight line speed helped Iversen dive back into his compatriot's slipstream.

Lyon unleashed Bjerre junior again for an instant turnaround but the move looked to have backfired when he was left at the tapes – only for the youngster to fly around the Swindon pair as Allen anchored back-to-back maxs.

Lynn continued to pile on the misery with Kenneth Bjerre happy to play pillion behind the quick Iversen with Nicholls a mere spectator in heat 13 as Lynn moved 21 clear.

Korneliussen blunted Janowski's tactical in the penultimate before Kenneth Bjerre sealed a comprehensive home win in the finale.
