Silverstone saw some good results for some of the local teams and riders at the British Superbike Championships.
It was a big weekend for the RAF Regular and Reserves Kawasaki team from RAF Marham as it was the last chance for their rider, Jake Dixon, to make the six-rider line-up for the final showdown.
Dixon had to get the better of Luke Mossey on the JG Speedfit Kawasaki and stay ahead of Christian Iddon in the weekend's triple header.
He did the first part with a fourth and a ninth, but the final race on Sunday became a race of attrition as 22 riders came under starters orders and only seven finished in what was declared a wet race.
As the weather deteriorated riders were falling like skittles and it became a case of doing enough to stay ahead, but trying to stay on the bike as well.

Mossey went down behind Dixon, but by then he had Iddon in front of him and it was not looking good for his showdown prospects, despite having got up to fourth place. Then, on lap seven, it was Iddon's turn to hit the deck as the Tyco BMW lost grip and Dixon knew he only had to stay on to make the showdown – and this he succeeded in doing and also claimed third place when the race was red flagged at the two thirds distance.
Morello Racing's fortunes continued to nosedive at the weekend as Danny Buchan saw his Superstock 1000 championship lead reduced even further to just 15 points.

Buchan was forced to settle for fifth behind his team-mate Fraser Rogers on their Morello Kawasakis while Richard Cooper notched up another win on his Suzuki.
Qualifying could not have been worse for them as the Saturday session was wiped out by the weather after a couple of laps.
For Thetford's Ryan Vickers it was to be his best Superstock 600 result of the year as he came through to take his first podium.
In what can only be described as tricky conditions, he grabbed third position off Robert Kennedy with just a few laps remaining and hung on to the chequered flag, Grant Newstead came home in 18th place out of the 31 finishers.
