Summer sailing continued at Beccles Amateur Sailing Club with the penultimate races in series B on Saturday. In the light westerley 11 young helms were out on the water for the novice race, which was dominated by Jacob Woolnough in a Topper, his first victory of the season.

With low tide hampering the Optimist fleet it was left to James How to take the bell for second. George Curtis secured his silverware with another two wins in the Bittern Cup and his brother Rowan cleaned up in the Mirror Trophy to put him ahead of Charlie Folkard by one point overall, with just two races to go. The pressure is on next week as a single point now also separates Tankard and Mr Angry in the Clubhouse Trophy.

Richard Deller and Saskia Baylis in Cuddles kept their Coronation Cup chances alive with a close win over rivals Rory Kelsey and Georgie Roll in Tankard and during some frantic tacking back from the windward mark, Glen and Lucie Curtis were out after a heavy collision with Gentry and Soards in Chippas Delight.
