Horsford recorded a thrilling seven-run victory over Vauxhall Mallards on a tough day for the batsmen at Manor Park.
The home side must have feared the worst after being dismissed for just 101, with Paul Bradshaw and Brett Stolworthy both taking three wickets and Ben France producing the eye-catching figures of 10-2-10-2.
But as it turned out the low total, which featured a fine 46 from Stephan Marillier, proved just about enough. Mallards were skittled out for only 94 in 35.3 overs as Ryan Findlay took 5-26 and Chris Brown and Chris Read weighed with two wickets apiece.
Norwich slid to a seven wicket defeat in a rain-affected game at Burwell, which saw the hosts comfortably chase down a revised target of 192 in 37 overs. Norwich had made 221-9 from their full allocation, a score that was built around a 91-run stand between Will O'Donnell (56) and Ashley Watson (40).
