HOLT 18, SOUTHWOLD 7: Holt recorded their seventh win in nine Eastern Counties One matches on Saturday to consolidate fourth place in the table.
The early stages saw Holt on the attack and their efforts were rewarded when Allen gave them the lead with a penalty. After 26 minutes Daniels scored from a driving maul to increase the lead to 8-0.
The home side were immediately rewarded a minute later when, following a cross kick from Mears and a kindly bounce, Robson gathered possession and raced through for a try. With Allen adding the points the lead had been extended to 15-0.
The second half was only into its second minute when Holt were awarded a penalty 30 metres out, for Allen to increase the lead to 18-0. This really was the last opportunity Holt were to experience of putting their opponents under pressure for the rest of the game, as Southwold began to make good use of possession.
They were rewarded after seven minutes when, following a quickly taken penalty, a converted try was scored to reduce the lead to 18-7 but that is the way it stayed.
