Boss Matt Henman feels Dereham Town are ideally poised for a winter play-off push.

The Magpies are ninth in Ryman Division One North, just four points outside of the top-five. But with games in hand on all of the sides around them, Henman is feeling positive going into a busy December programme.

'For us to be in the position we are, with the player unavailability we've had and injuries, is nothing short of remarkable,' said the Dereham boss, whose men welcome Romford this afternoon.

'If we can get four or five players back, and maybe add one or two more, I feel that will make us a strong contender.'

Keeper Andy Wilton has a chance of shaking off his fitness issues to feature while the game comes too soon for Adam Smith, Frazer Blake-Tracy, Michael Sommerfield and Harry Barker.

Former Kirkley & Pakefield frontman Ryan Crisp is in line to make his debut after arriving on a month's loan from Needham Market.

Henman said: 'Ryan will add a physical presence in forward areas and scores goals.'
