Dereham shooter Mick Gault will have to settle for being the joint most decorated Commonwealth Games athlete of all time after he failed to qualify for the 50m air pistol final this morning.
With only the top eight qualifying, Gault could only finish 13th meaning that his chance of winning a 19th medal this afternoon has gone.
The 60-year-old, who announced his retirement after the qualifiers this morning, drew level with Australian shooter Phillip Adams on 18 medals after winning a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol event on Saturday.
